what will you live for?

Posted: 09/30/2008 in books, learning, life

lizzie is napping… i have been thinking… i decide i better stop thinking and get to work. i open up a purpose driven life by rick warren and start typing the part my boss has highlighted for me to type for the top of the life changes page  (where we list various prayer requests for our church). this is what he had highlighted for me to type up:

What Will You Live For?

Living the rest of your life for the glory of God will require a change in your priorities, your schedule, your relationships and everything else. It will sometimes mean choosing a difficult path instead of an easy one. Even Jesus struggled with this. Knowing He was about to be crucified, he cried out:

“My soul has become troubled; and what shall I saw, ‘Father, save Me from this hour?’ But for this purpose I came to this hour. Father, glorify Thy name.”(John 12:27-28 (NASB)

Jesus stood at a fork in the road. Would He fulfill His purpose and bring glory to God, or would He shrink back and live a comfortable, self-centered life? You face the same choice. Will you live for your own goals, comfort, and pleasure, or will you live the rest of your life for God’s glory, knowing that He has promised eternal rewards? The Bible says,

“Anyone who holds on to life just as it is destroys that life. But if you let it go,… you’ll have it forever, real and eternal.” (John 12:25 (MSG)

It’s time to settle this issue. Who are you going to live for – yourself or God?

the funny thing is; this is what was on my mind while i was thinking before i started working… it has been on  my mind for a good week now.

oh it’s fall!! i’m thrilled!

the colors are so yummy, the sweaters are so warm, the walks are so enjoyable, and the hot chocolate and vanilla hazelnut lattes are so delicious!

i wish it weren’t so short!

this video is very controversial. i want to warn you now. click here to watch the whole thing. click here to watch a shorter trailer to the above movie.

i advise not watching it unless you are open to information/facts against vaccinating. i know this is controversial; knowing that i still decided i wanted to post it because i believe and agree with this trailer and encourage informing all about the dangers of vaccines. i also want to know exactly where this video is to find later to reference.

this is full of FACTS, statistics and much much more and i want you to know these are doctors speaking out against vaccines.

it’s been a long time since i’ve done my nails!

we found some waterbased, safe, no acrylic fingernail polish from a company we order our healthy products from so i splurged and got some! it’s just clear, i’m not a bright red kinda fingernail girl. but it sure is fun to even just have clear on.

i think it’s more just getting 10 min by myself! 🙂 i have a date with a book and a mug full of tea planned tonight too! i hope i get to do it!

“see ya later”

Posted: 09/27/2008 in life

tomorrow we scoot off to church; run home to replenish the diaper bag, change clothes, grab lunch, the crock pot and fruit salad stuff and head to osky to hang out and say our “see ya later’s” (it’s not BYE and yes it a coping method; leave me be!) to amanda and tim.

i don’t want to be teary! cuz they aren’t leaving us! they’re going to get their children and coming home.  so um pray for me!  but pray for tim and amanda even more! what a new, big, scary, exciting thing for them!
