my sister emailed me this link this morning. i fell in love with it immediately.

this gal who wrote this has such a way with words and expressing her “tone of voice” with her words. i love it! i pray for this ability daily! i just couldn’t help but post it here for my own records…

why we homeschool.

Okay, Breanna, WOW!!! I have so many thoughts spinning in my head after reading this! Thank you SO MUCH for sharing it! I agree with you–sometimes it’s hard to express my conviction to homeschool. I DO NOT want to make anyone else feel defensive, and I myself don’t want to come across as defensive–I’m just doing what I need to do and others should do what they need to do. I sometimes see such division among the Lord’s people over homeschooling and it breaks my heart (and I’m sorry to be presumptuous, but I think it breaks His heart too!) I was recently talking about this with a friend I used to go to church with in Kville–how we are sisters in Christ FIRST, then homeschoolers. She still goes to church there (she hs) and misses me b/c she feels others in her church family don’t understand her b/c they don’t hs.

Anyway, that’s something I just want to avoid as much as possible. Even in our Bible study right now, three of us hs, two don’t, and I just don’t think that should be a point of division–we are followers of Christ trying to help and encourage one another along this journey–that should be enough.

Having said all that, can I just be real for a minute and say WHOA! That woman is perhaps who I ASPIRE to be?! I share many of her thoughts and visions, but to be real. . .it’s a struggle. Every day, it’s a struggle and we just do the best we can over here, trusting God to cover the rest.

Now I’m going back to read it again! šŸ™‚
