the appraiser was here yesterday morning…

we passed.

shwoo!

there’s still lots unfinished – but technically, we are finished. (in the bank’s eyes and in the sense of having the ability to resell it or the bank to resell it in the event we don’t pay up. can you imagine doing all this work and not being able to stay here. oh how awful!)

after the appraiser was here, slowly, we realized how deep we could breath and we slowly felt the weight of the last year lifting… how nice!!!

proof.

i think lizzie’s going to love having her daddy back and i think her daddy is going to love being around even more! 🙂

digging the footings

digging the footings

yesterday was quite the day.

i headed to hayesville iowa for a dress fitting. i set out 2 hours before my appt. it took me less time than i thought to get there – i decided to stop at target on my way. i had some shoes to take back, somethings i wanted to look out… while i was parking i reminded myself, casually, to look for those mugs!

guess what they had!!!!!!!!!!!!! oh excitement!

we drove on to our appointment – it went horribly! there is no doubt in my mind that lizzie faith thought i was leaving her there. she clung. screamed. gaged. cried. oh it was horrible and embarrassing!  my portion of the dress fitting went much better than lizzie’s portion. *sigh* hoping and praying the wedding goes better than that! i’m confident it will!

lizzie faith fell asleep on the way to osky and hardly ate any lunch. she woke up not long after we got to my mom’s and we decided to run our errands first thing. i am so glad we did! i started my car and it sounded horrible! we called my brother in law and he came over on his lunch break and diagnosed. we called around to mechanics at home and they didn’t want to touch it! it sounded relatively simple so i baffled! dad was on his way home from a minnesota fishing trip and he called a mechanic in osky that he likes. i took it by there and this guy said the same thing as tim. said it’s going to take a couple days, have it done by the end of the week. quoted me a price. chatted a bit more. i felt completely comfortable! and decided to leave it in osky. my sister heather had offered me her old van to drive home… that made the situation sooo much less stressful!!!! so now we have more iowa license plate cars parked at our house at night than missouri… 🙂 hopefully that will change soon.

we went on to check out my sister’s house! she has been working hard rearranging and getting new furniture! i am in LOVE with her new table! YAY for her! 11 yrs later she gets to purchase her first dining/kitchen table!! hammy down’s are blessings but not quite like getting the one you pick out and love. 🙂 it’s amazing how it completely changes the room! the feel and the look! loved it!

i went back to mom’s, had some quick supper and headed home. i had a crazy girl who wasn’t minding and was exhausted. and still wasn’t eating… hmmm…

we took off for home, made a quick stop at my mom’s friends house to deliver some stuff to her from my mom and cruised home in the minivan. 🙂

when we got home, my sister amanda and bil tim and nephew henry were there!! that was so fun!! tim was helping eric with our driveway while eric did some weed-wacking around the hole and such. the hay grows really really fast!!! thanks for comin guys! 🙂

the diggers are supposed to be done by noon today! WOOHOO! i’m not sure what that means since there’s so much rain in the forecast this week, but they are done! and that excites me! 🙂

when we got home from the site, i changed lizzie’s diaper and it was a doozy!! somebody doesn’t feel very good! which explains a lot of her attitude yesterday! hoping she’s on the mend today!

also hoping today is nonevent-full! i dunno about you but i’m exhausted!

dumps

Posted: 02/03/2009 in hubby, lizzie faith

i’ve been a little down in the dumps the last couple of days. hoping to pull out of it soon!

i’m enjoying my first day at home without church responsibilities. it’s been a long time coming. 🙂

this morning i’ve been picking up and getting the house back in order after a few rough days and a day in osky yesterday. i’m listening to the dishwasher now. the laundry is almost put away (this is a HUGE achievement for me! pathetic, i know!).

i’ve started working on some shower invites for a dear friend. i’m very excited to work on them! i’m so in love with them! (no pics until they are mailed, sorry!!!) 🙂

lizzie faith is growing up so fast. i enjoy every minute of her! she did so well in the car yesterday. the back way was finally open after months of being closed for construction. it was so nice to get there in 70 min instead of 90+. it made my stay feel longer too!!! i really enjoy those days and are anxious to go more often now that i’m not working.

j. vernon mcgee

do ya know who i’m talking about?? ok if not, click here

my hubby loves listening to his preaching on his mp3 player while he is working.

last night while we were trying to drift to sleep, he is quoting j. vernon mcgee. (please do click above and listen to the way he talks and picture my husband doing a perfect impersonation!)

mcgee says that he doesn’t get how people say, “that car is sexy” etc. and he says, “i tell you what is sexy, the word of God is sexy”. (not a direct quote) it cracks me up every time!! this 80 yr old guy talking about how the Bible is sexy! shwoo! it’s great!

sometime ago eric found this website where you can download mcgee preaching verse by verse about each of the books in the Bible. my hubby LOVES listening to preaching directly from the Bible. he gets frustrated because people call studies “Bible Studies” when they are actually studying books, like The Five Love Languages or something and not studying the Bible at all. (not to say those books aren’t biblical, they are, maybe, but they aren’t the Bible…)

back on track.

this morning, i’m brainstorming trying to think of something nice i could do for eric. he had laid a magazine out with a commentary by mcgee he wanted me to look up and find cheaper online for someone to get him for christmas. so i did that. and found it for 60% less than what the magazine was selling it for. WOOHOO!

then i realize he wants ALL of the books of the Bible so he can listen to them. (he only has 1 peter right now) and the reason he didn’t download more is because we only had my old laptop at the time and it couldn’t hold squat.

i started downloading the whole thing! i have the old testament all downloaded and burning to a dvd right now (for him to put into his computer and transfer onto mp3 player) and the new testament started downloading – should all be complete (burned to a dvd) in a couple hours. i’m so excited! i hope he’s surprised when he comes home. (i was going to save it til christmas, but i just can’t! i’m too excited!)

i’m feeling like a good lil wifey today! i’m even baking crispy chicken with potato wedges and corn. YUM! now off to pick up toys while liz is sleeping. 🙂
